It is the day our country got independence and the fact that that we are now an independent country after more than 2 centuries of subjugation is still a bit overwhelming and hence, the happiness of Indians is quite something else on this day.

India was one of the countries that The British enslaved throughout the world, urging everyone to believe that they were doing it for the greater good, and the native people needed to be taught and colonized. This may have been one of the reasons, but the fact that India was full of riches was what drove them to India. And after they got hold of the country, they treated the Indians like filth.

It was a very dark period for India, but the brave sons and daughters of Mother India helped overcome those dark periods by shining the light of their sacrifices. They defied the British and never did once care about the consequences. And in the end, the consequences were quote in their favor, for the British learnt that they could no longer control the flames burning in the hearts of the people and decided to leave, declaring India an independent country. This day is marked the most important day in the Indian history.

Every year, people celebrate this day to remember the martyrs and pay their tributes to them with utmost grandeur. The celebrations start with the speech of PM followed by a parade and carry on for the whole day. India has endured a lot of torture and suppression due to their ill fate of being enslaved by The British.  India was a very rich country, true to its roots and culture, until the arrival of British people. They enslaved India with help of their armed forces and began their colonization of our country. Anyone who opposed them met a very abominable fate. But the brave men and women of India were not afraid of dying in their quest for getting their Mother India free from the chains of slavery of outsiders. They fought for a very long time, more than 200 years, and won in the end. And India was granted independence on 15th August 1947.

Happy Independence Day 2016|Independence Day Poems

Happy Independence Day 2016|Independence Day Poems:
Independence Day, celebrated every year on 15th of August in India, is one of the most important festivals. It is a national holiday and the whole nation is busy in only thing on this day, celebrating our freedom and remembering the freedom-fighters whose sacrifices and efforts got us free. For stuff on Happy Independence Day 2016, click here.

India had been in the chained rule of the Firangis (the British as addressed then) for nearly 250 years. They mistreated the Indians, and they looted our great country of its riches. It was a very harsh time period for everyone, but especially the poor and the farmers. The people of this country suffered a lot under their rule, and their rules cared about only the people they served, and never the people they ruled. They were inhumane.

Independence Day Wishes Shayari Slogans Images Wallpapers Drawings Greetings 2016

Anyone who tried to lead any independence movements, or even tried to defy them was locked up in a cell and given living hell on his earth. But not even their harshest methods were enough to stop the freedom-fighters from fighting. They fought till their very last breath and in the end, the all succeeded in getting their country independent.

And as they say, the more you have suffered in achieving something, the more you appreciate it. And that is the reason that even after so many years, people celebrate this day as if it were yesterday that the country got independent and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru addressed this nation as the first Prime Minister of India.

Every year, people come in thousands to watch the Prime Minister’s speech and the Independence Day parade and those who can’t come to the capital watch it on their televisions. People wake up on this day with such compassion and patriotism for their fellow Indians and their mother country.
They wish everyone around them and even those not around them, by calling them or texting them with enthusiasm and happiness. They greet each other with patriotic songs or shayaris and everywhere is an aura of happiness and gratefulness. They remember the martyrs and pay them most heartfelt tributes. The tricolor can be seen everywhere you look. And people can be seen in their most jovial moods.
